The Outdoor Notification Layer plays an important role in crisis management, helping to create a controlled environment around the perimeter of an event.

Using WEBS Contact®, an operator can broadcast specific messages campus-wide through WEBS® Towers, Wall Mounts, Paging Units and High Power Speaker Arrays.

Even more importantly, it is also possible to broadcast audio messages to a pre-defined zone of WEBS® devices, or even individual units, allowing emergency personnel to issue targeted alerts to specific segments of a community.

At the same time, emergency personnel can assess the situation through optional video surveillance equipment that can be integrated on WEBS® hardware.

In instances where the same message would apply to an entire campus, High Power Speaker Array can be a valuable asset. Warning sirens are a proven technology often used to notify the public of weather emergencies and other natural disasters. For example, when a natural disaster is approaching and the location is not yet known, High Power Speaker Array can be used to send a warning message to a wide announcement area.

There is no single technology that can answer the evolving needs of mass notification. Rather, a variety of notification layers should be implemented to cover all aspects of message delivery in emergency situations. Talk-A-Phone’s WEBS Contact® platform is the foundation of this new way of thinking about mass notification as an evolutionary process.
