The Security Innovation Hub serves as a collaborative center for physical security professionals, offering live labs, co-working, programming, events, and a space to test, source, and develop emerging technologies.
Within the Hub’s showcase, our integrated solution is positioned among technologies that are shaping what safety looks like for communities, campuses, and public spaces. Two Talkaphone Blue Light Towers, along with a Sunflower Labs “Hive” and “Bee” drone, have been installed at the Hub, enabling on-demand, live demonstrations of the system.
Talkaphone’s Emergency Phone + Autonomous Drone Integration pairs trusted blue-light emergency phones with Sunflower Labs’ autonomous “Bee” drones, creating a system that deploys a drone within seconds of an alert. A single Bee drone can support a network of emergency phones, delivering high-definition visuals and AI-powered intelligence while streaming via standard RTSP/ONVIF protocols, giving first responders and operators immediate situational awareness. The system is designed to cover up to a 600-meter radius from its central “Hive,” potentially spanning over 250 acres, depending on layout.
On Thursday, September 18, 2025, Security Professional’s Day in Chicago was announced at the Hub’s official ribbon-cutting. Hosted by the Security Innovation Hub in partnership with the ASIS North Shore Chapter, the event featured workshops, technology demonstrations, and networking opportunities for professionals across physical, digital, and law enforcement security.
Inclusion in the Security Innovation Hub means visitors, security experts, and decision makers will now be able to see the integration in action, in a live-lab environment. They’ll witness how placing a call through a Talkaphone blue light phone can trigger aerial visibility, enable real-time monitoring, and accelerate response, turning what used to be uncertainty into clarity when seconds count.
